Alton Elementary just got new hardback books for their library... All these new books to choose from makes it a very hard decision to choose which book to read.
March Madness has been going on at Alton Elementary School... Check out our boards to see the books in the lead. Each week, the students are voting on the best books at AES until we get down to one book. Also, Trixie has still been coming once a week to read with our students. We love our visits from Trixie.
Alton Elementary Library has brand NEW books from the Scholastic Book Fair. Thank you for purchasing books, so we could get books for our library shelves. Also, Mrs. Vanek has posted the reading incentive- read a lot = color run!
We had a blast celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday- Read Across America Day at Alton Elementary. All week in the library, we have been watching a video by Thing 1 & Thing 2 on why reading is important (we ask community and school leaders this question). On March 2nd, we had community and school leaders come read to every classroom at Alton Elementary School. We sure do appreciate all the volunteers that came and read to our classes. Check out our pictures below.

The students read lots of books this fall, and these students made their reading goal. Now, they are enjoying their reading party. Thank you, Mrs. Vanek for keeping track of how much we read!!
Students watched the Inside Out movie while enjoying the popcorn and "emotions" skittles. The students were also allowed to wear their clothes inside out today.
We are so proud of Jaden in Mrs. Prinz's class... This first grader read his first chapter book- a Magic Tree House book. Keep up the reading, Jaden!!
