Students in Kindergarten through 2nd grade were able to meet author Laura Hudgens on Friday, October 6th. She talked with students about the importance of reading and how she wrote and was able to get her book published. She is also currently working on her second book.
Students and staff were very excited to welcome back Trixie to the library. Students love reading to Trixie! Trixie is part of an amazing organization called Faithful Paws out of Houston, Texas. We are very lucky to have our students experience this program at Alton Elementary.
We have started with a new crop of 20 books for the 2017-2018 Bluebonnet Award. Remember you need to read 5 books to qualify to vote for your favorite in January 2018. We are planning something new and special this year if you qualify to vote. If you read 5 books you will also get to attend our Bluebonnet Breakfast in February!
